Food insecurity is a serious issue that affects many people in Cook County as 1 in 6 children in the area do not have access to good meals. Every year, Mid-West Moving and Storage, a professional residential and commercial moving company that serves the Chicago, IL area, partners with Move for Hunger to organize a Fill-A-Truck Food Drive. Move for Hunger is a non-profit organization that mobilizes moving companies to help fight hunger and reduce food waste. Each fall, they work with moving companies to organize Fill-A-Truck Food Drives in which moving companies establish drop off locations to collect non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products to help local food banks. Mid-West Moving organizes a Fill-A-Truck Food Drive each year and Proceed Innovative served as one of the drop off points for donations.
This year, Mid-West Moving ran the Fill-A-Truck Food Drive from November 1 through December 12, 2023. They established 10 drop off locations at local businesses in the northwest Chicago suburbs, including one at their own office. Proceed Innovative is proud to serve as a drop off point each year to help Mid-West Moving collect donations for the Fill-A-Truck Food Drive. At the end of the collection period, a representative from Mid-West Moving collects the boxes and brings them to a local food pantry.

This year was another successful year as we filled the box at our office with non-perishable food items before it was picked up by Kari-Ann of Mid-West Moving.
