1. Google Adwords
Google’s mission statement is to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”. One of the many Google programs is Adwords. Google AdWords is a paid digital marketing program (also known as Pay-per-click). It is very effective in many cases because it targets consumers that are interested in your product or service and search for more information.
Google constantly improves their services and offers many innovative programs to connect businesses with their customers. Google AdWords offers various types of marketing options including Remarketing.
2. What is Remarketing?
Remarketing is a strategy to reach back to people who have visited your website or used your app. They see your ads as they browse websites that are part of the Google Display Network, or as they search online for terms related to your products or services.
3. How Adwords Remarketing works?
Have you ever noticed that after you visit a website the ads from the website seem to follow you? That is a prime example of remarketing. Remarketing allows customers that are not quite ready to purchase your product to be reminded of their initial interest. For example, let’s say that a potential customer visits your website. Let’s say your website is a site that sells roller blades. A potential customer selects the pair of blades he wants and is ready to order, however he gets distracted and goes to get lunch instead. After lunch he completely forgets about his interest in buying roller blades. The way remarketing works is it aims to remind him. Throughout the day, when he has other websites pulled up on his computer, it is likely he will see ads on his page advertising your roller blades with a link to the website visited earlier. The ad may even have a sale on roller blades to sway his or her decision. The way remarketing works is when a consumer makes a search on google, google saves a cookie registering what exactly the consumer is searching. In general, people rarely clear out their cookies, so the compilation of this data can generally determine the age, sex, and general location of the consumer. It can also determine what parts of your website each consumer has visited.
Google is paid by companies to market their ads to specific consumers. Remarketing is so specific that you can choose to only market to consumers that had something in their shopping cart, looked at a popular product, or went onto your website through their mobile device. Mobile remarketing is when the display remarketing ads appear specifically on people’s mobile devices. With the number of smartphones steadily increasing, the need for mobile marketing increases as well! Remarketing really helps promote your brand and sell products, no matter what type. On the image below the banner ads are examples of what remarketing looks like.
4. How Remarketing can help your business?
Remarketing can help your business to improve brand recognition, it can help you lower pay-per-click cost, and improve your website conversions. Remarketing allows for the already interested customer to become familiar with your brand. When possible customers are surfing the webs on other sites, they will constantly see your ads appear on their webpage on the display search section. The more they see your brand, the more likely they are to identify and associate it with sites the commonly visit. In turn, this reminds them to visit your web page. While customers are surfing social media and other review sites, they will see your ads pop up and are then more likely to talk about the product, service, or sale. If they see a sale come up on facebook or twitter, they are more likely to like or retweet it, which in turn causes all of the customers followers to see your company as well. Remarketing also has a high return on investment. Cost of clicks vary depending on the product.
